Hi there! I’m a 20-something-year-old Filipino-American. I’ve spent my whole life in NYC and now I’ve made the decision to go to law school in this great city!
I’m the first person in my family to be born and raised here the the US, which means I’m also the first person in my family to have finished high school and college here. School has been a tough journey because I haven’t often had anyone to look to for their guidance or experience. My parents, brothers, and cousins all got their degrees (mostly in nursing) in the Philippines.
I decided to start this blog as a way of documenting yet another new American experience for me: applying to law school. There is no one in my family, in the US and in the Philippines, that’s an attorney. I hope that whoever reads this might find some company if they’re also a lonely first generation American starting a new path.
Part of my every day life is navigating through different spaces and figuring out what it means to me to be a Filipino-American woman in NYC. If that sounds like something that you could be interested in, please continue to read through my blog, follow me on WordPress, and follow me on Bloglovin.
Thank you so much for finding your way here and reading what I have to say. Please leave comments or send messages if you have any comments/concerns/suggestions! I’d greatly appreciate it.
